Hi, welcome! I'm Stephanie Quilao. Jeans For Good was inspired by two things:
- I wanted an inspiring way to retire my popular healthy living blog Back in Skinny Jeans, yet keep the spirit of the blog alive by helping people let go of their un-used jeans like the skinny and fat jeans we hold onto because of an illusion we are holding onto. We can let go of those un-used jeans to help make a difference for a cause we care deeply about.
- I believe that even tiny actions can help make the world a better place. And even though donating, selling, or auctioning just one pair of jeans may not seem like much, it's the spirit, intent, and energy behind the do-gooding that matters. Small actions do add up over time.
As of today (June 2009), Jeans For Good is not a specific non-profit or even for profit business. It's really a cause, a mission, or dream born out my desire to help make the world a better place somehow using the influence I have created online through blogging and social media. Becoming some kind of official entity could happen in the future. I leave the door open for possibilities.
Jeans For Good is not about me or an individual, it's about a higher good for all. I just got the ball rolling. It would be cool to see people take the essence of Jeans For Good and make something out of it that helps make a difference in the world.
Again, it doesn't have to be anything fancy or grandiose. Even the smallest of actions does have impact!
